37.5 hours, start time 7-8am central Overview Leading food manufacturing company looking for an experienced Labeling and Regulatory Compliance Specialist. This role involves reviewing, updating, and maintaining label content to ensure accuracy and compliance, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to address regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate should have at least a BS in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related field and 3+ years of experience including a strong understanding of labeling regulations and experience in compliance processes within the industry. Responsibilities Create and assure compliance of federally regulated product label information, including nutrition, ingredient declarations, allergens, claims, and third-party certifications. Address regulatory issues pertaining to food labeling and claims; manage multiple projects working with Marketing, R D, Legal, Supply Chain, and Quality teams; communicate on labeling and compliance matters for General Mills. Provide food labeling expertise and communicate cross-functionally regarding current and emerging food labeling issues, opportunities, and impacts. Develop and maintain accurate food labeling information for finished products to ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, third-party standards (e.g., non-GMO, GFCO) and company policies. Complete and submit documentation supporting regulatory requirements and claims; interact with regulators and third-party agencies as needed. Contribute to, review, and approve artwork, packaging, graphics, and text on product labels to ensure accuracy and compliance. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulations, technical product information, industry trends, and labeling practices. Develop communication strategies for consumer and customer inquiries related to labeling. Collaborate on managing regulatory, food safety, litigation, brand, and third-party risks; provide input into risk management decisions. Problem-solve and leverage regulatory relationships and tools to address sourcing and production challenges. Identify process and system improvements for efficiency and standardization. Requirements Minimum BS in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related field Minimum 3 years of related experience Working knowledge of regional regulatory standards and documentation requirements Working knowledge of food product development, commercialization, and related processes Working knowledge of food safety and allergens Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills for interaction with cross-functional teams and external vendors/regulators Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously; proficient in multitasking and prioritization Detail oriented, organized, and self-motivated Strong problem-solving skills including root cause analysis, risk assessment, and corrective actions System One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
