Job Description

SUMMARY:
The Compliance Data and Reporting Analyst ("CDRA") is part of the Brown University Health Corporate Compliance team and reports to the Manager of Compliance and Program Effectiveness. This position serves as a key member of the compliance team and data analyst for compliance and privacy reporting matters. The CDRA is responsible for assisting the compliance team with facilitating, executing, monitoring the overall management of the compliance, policy & privacy, and revenue compliance data and reporting functions. Will assist with general audit projects.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Analyst Design business analysis and data recording systems for use throughout the department. Maintain databases and perform updates as necessary to ensure accuracy. Track and identify trends in reported compliance issues and inquiries. Regularly examine data reports to locate and resolve mistakes throughout. Accurately analyze and collect data for various types of business reports. Create business reports and dashboards that provide insight into key data points. Communicate the results of data analysis in written and verbal form to managers. Assists the Team with the maintenance of electronic data management systems in use in the Department. Including but not limited to - NAVEX; Imprivata; MDaudit; COI -Smart; Intelligent Contracts Privacy Assists the Privacy team with the coordination, development, facilitation, and enhancement of the Privacy Program through reporting trends, metrics and dashboards. Assists the VP and Manager with coordinating system wide privacy and compliance projects which may include working closely with Information Security, Information Services, Human Resources, or operations teams to identify and implement process or system changes. Responsible for the collection and analysis of privacy program data and analytics and development of standard and ad hoc reports. Provides support to privacy-related initiatives including the planning and performance of privacy-based risk assessments and data-inventory processes. Provides support to the VP and Department Manager(s) and members of the compliance team in meeting federal and state reporting requirements, including the Office for Civil Rights, regarding breach notification and follow-up investigations. Maintains a working knowledge of relevant privacy laws, regulations, rules, and standards and keeps abreast of privacy trends. Assists the Manager and VP with requests for data sharing with external entities. Compliance and Revenue Compliance Assisting the Compliance Team with the management of general audits identified on the Annual Workplan and other audits as needed. Develop and facilitate designated monitoring activities to assess compliance with policies. Responsible for ensuring monitoring is occurring on a consistent basis. Assists with implementation of compliance training and education. Supports the activities of the System Compliance Committee and Audit & Risk Committee, and implementation of the Compliance work plan. Develop a strong understanding of the Compliance Services software tools to help optimize each tool to full potential. Participates in committees and work groups representing Compliance as requested. Handles all compliance and privacy matters with sensitivity and maintains strict confidentiality of all work material and activities. At the direction of the Manager performs special projects related to Compliance. Supports the development and implementation of a sustainable Privacy and Compliance management program. Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree and at least a minimum of 2 years' experience working as a data analyst, preferably in healthcare. Master's degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate will have strong data analytics skills. While we understand that no candidate will possess every skill listed, a minimum requirement for this position is proficiency in data analytics, including development of data driven reports, dashboards, and use of data analytics tools. Demonstrated ability to manage time and prioritize projects to meet deadlines Ability to use SQL and Microsoft Excel to create pivot tables, graphs and charts. Experience with Tableau and/or Microsoft PowerBI Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively relate data to coworkers Tendency to pay close attention to small details that could impact results
Certification/Licensure:
Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) required within 12 months of hire. Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Skills Required. Experience with Artificial Intelligence; Imprivata/or Privacy Surveillance software, NAVEX/Compliance Tracking Software; Revenue Cycle Audit solutions, and electronic health records preferred

$71,136.00-$117,353.60
