Position OverviewAt the Texas Education Agency's Office of Governance (OG), we are driven by a powerful mission: to proactively support school systems, keep students safe, and uphold Texas education law with integrity, objectivity, and excellence. Our core workstreams Field Support and Compliance & Investigations focus on strengthening governance, fostering a culture of accountability, and promoting continuous improvement across Texas schools. By working closely with school systems and agency teams, we help ensure every Texas public school student has access to a safe, high-quality education. The Self-Reported Data Unit (SRDU) within the Compliance and Investigations Department supports TEA's efforts to improve outcomes for students by promoting accurate data reporting, effective implementation of educational programs, and compliance with state and federal requirements. SRDU uses data analysis, compliance reviews, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement practices to identify potential concerns, strengthen local systems, and inform agency decision-making.
The Compliance Analyst will perform advanced compliance analysis work related to self-reported data and agency strategic initiatives, primarily through conducting reviews that are complex or large in scale. The analyst helps ensure data quality and regulatory compliance by evaluating programs, policies, and documentation, and by preparing clear, actionable reports that inform leadership and support agency decision-making. The role requires extensive writing, editing, and quality review of reports and other deliverables as well as exercising sound judgment to evaluate information, identify potential risks or implementation challenges, and develop recommendations that support effective program administration and improved educational outcomes.
This position offers an opportunity to lead meaningful work that directly impacts the quality of education for millions of Texas students. This role works well under minimal supervision and reports to SRDU's Annual Data Validation Supervisor.
