Full Job Description Job Summary:
This position is part of the Global Trade Management & Compliance (GTMC) leadership team in Sysco's Supply Chain organization. This associate will develop, execute, and communicate various compliance material associated with global trade. Responsibilities include execution and monitoring of international trade compliance initiatives and activities set by International Trade Compliance Leadership and to support improved compliance across the organization while delivering results through analysis of trade data, knowledge of trade regulations and a strong collaboration with functional leaders and teams across the company.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze import/export data to identify risks or opportunities for savings. Make recommendations to management, as appropriate Apply advanced knowledge of import/export regulations and requirements to support business needs Research products to ensure timely and accurate U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications, partner government agency declarations, and country of origin determinations Design and implement automation solutions to increase efficiency and improve monitoring of compliance issues
Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree Education Preferred:
Bachelor's degree and/or 5-10 years' experience in related field
Experience Required:
5+ years proven experience in trade compliance management; with extensive proficiency in analytics.
Experience Preferred:
5-10 years of experience in International Trade Compliance with (practical) experience with partner government agency import/export regulations
Technical Skills and Abilities:
A thorough understanding of trade compliance laws and regulations, attention to detail, analytical skills, and proficiency in data management and analysis. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to develop standards to maintain legal compliance. Must have ACE, and GTM solutions experience Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication Must be highly motivated, detail-oriented and possess the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision
