Job Description

About the role LGX Freight Solutions is hiring a Carrier Compliance Specialist for our Humble, TX office. You'll be the gate every carrier passes through before they haul a load for us: verifying authority, insurance, safety history, and identity, and making sure we never hand freight to someone who isn't who they say they are. You'll also close the loop on completed loads by collecting and organizing proofs of delivery (PODs) and purchase orders (POs) so every load is ready to bill and every file is complete. This role suits someone who is detail-driven, skeptical in the right ways, and satisfied by a clean file. In heavy haul, a single bad carrier or a missing POD can cost more than a month of margin. You'll be the person who prevents both. About LGX We're a 4PL (fourth-party logistics provider) based in Humble, TX. We manage our clients' logistics end to end, including heavy haul and project cargo, ocean freight, air freight, and warehousing. We serve oil and gas, EPC, construction, and industrial clients domestically and internationally. What you'll do: Carrier vetting and onboarding Vet new carriers before their first load: verify MC and USDOT numbers, operating authority status, authority age, and safety record through FMCSA Collect and review carrier packets, including W-9s, broker-carrier agreements, and certificates of insurance Confirm auto liability and cargo insurance coverage, limits, and exclusions, and flag carriers whose cargo coverage doesn't match the value of the freight they're booked on Screen for fraud red flags: recent authority changes, mismatched contact information, identity theft, and double brokering indicators Onboard approved carriers in our TMS and carrier vetting platform Highway Ongoing compliance monitoring Track insurance expirations and request updated certificates before coverage lapses Monitor carriers for authority revocations, insurance cancellations, and safety rating changes Maintain a do-not-use list and document the reason for every carrier placed on it Keep carrier files audit-ready and current Load documentation (PODs and POs) Collect signed PODs from carriers and drivers on completed loads, and follow up until every one is in Gather customer POs and match them to the correct loads Review PODs for exceptions: shortages, damage notations, missing signatures, and incorrect delivery information, and escalate anything that could affect billing or a claim Organize and file load paperwork (rate confirmations, BOLs, PODs, POs) so completed loads are ready for invoicing without delay Work with dispatch and accounting to resolve missing or mismatched documents What we're looking for 1+ years of experience in carrier compliance, carrier onboarding, freight brokerage, or logistics administration Working knowledge of FMCSA lookups, operating authority, and certificates of insurance Strong attention to detail. You notice when a phone number doesn't match the one on file. Organized and persistent. You don't stop chasing a POD until you have it. Comfortable with a TMS, email, spreadsheets, and PDF documents Clear, professional written communication with carriers, drivers, and internal teams Able to work on-site in Humble, TX, Monday through Friday Authorized to work in the United States High school diploma or equivalent Nice to have Experience with carrier vetting platforms such as Highway, Carrier Assure, RMIS, or MyCarrierPackets Familiarity with freight fraud schemes, including double brokering and identity theft Flatbed, heavy haul, or oversize and overweight freight exposure Billing, accounts receivable, or freight audit experience Bilingual (English/Spanish) Schedule and location Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM CT On-site at our Humble, TX office.
