Job Description
Job Overview Compliance Specialist position works with an assigned group of electric utility distribution cooperatives within Wisconsin to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. Position includes decision-making responsibilities within the limits of the approved budget; creation and implementation of environmental, safety, transportation and other regulatory policies; and the evaluation of related practices at the assigned cooperatives. This includes but is not limited to maintaining existing policies, procedures, and practices for meeting compliance obligations; the creation and implementation of new compliance activities; ensuring employees are trained appropriately; record keeping; and evaluating the effectiveness of programs, while always exercising prudent business judgement. The successful candidate will join WECA's compliance team and support electric distribution utility cooperative members located primarily in northwestern Wisconsin (an area with an approximate 60-mile radius from Osseo, WI). Frequent travel is required; a company vehicle is provided.
