GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Regional Market President provides leadership and assists in the development of strategic management in reaching market goals and objectives for the assigned Markets. Broadly responsible for business development efforts within each market. Represents the bank at civic and community functions, conducting relationships in a manner that will enhance overall marketing efforts of the bank.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Defines and implements ongoing prospecting strategies, leading other bankers in asset quality, prospecting and development activities and identifying market opportunities. Personally responsible for business development. Coordinates activities within the market to grow customer base and increase relationship depth of existing customers as well as prospects. Strengthens referral source network development through purposeful, proactive activities and events, in conjunction with the Manager, Community Outreach and Events. Drives cross-referral results with mortgage, cash management, personal banking, and trust and investment services. Provides the strategic and tactical direction for delivering and growing commercial and business services (i.e., commercial loans, core deposits, and fee income) for assigned market. Develops and implements a disciplined sales process for the assigned market, focused on relationship management, profitability, growth, and cost effectiveness. Identifies and capitalizes on market potential through execution of sales efforts. Responsible for setting expectations to deepen relationships with customers through cross-sales of services, developing new relationships, supporting relationship in managers of key customers, and providing an exceptional customer experience. Assists in formulating and communicating tactics to support the strategic plans and expectations in areas of responsibility. Draws on the talent of the entire market's team to meet the market/new business opportunities and the portfolio/customer demands of the portfolio. On an ongoing basis, responsible for re-assigning prospects and customers to get the best person or best team working for the best outcome. Personally manages customer relationships and sets an example for others on team to do likewise. Demonstrate teaming by partnering on joint calling efforts, sharing best practices, providing cross-sell opportunities, open and honest dialogue, and other appropriate actions that support great results and excellent cross-team collaboration in promoting business and personal bank services, as well as investment, trust and cash management services. Identifies the overall plan and tactical objectives for the team's community and professional involvement. Responsible for overall asset quality and portfolio management. Partners with credit in such areas as credit analysis quality and workflow, communication of Farmer's credit philosophy, and pre-approval evaluation and underwriting. Manages and monitors key asset quality metrics such as policy exceptions, tickler exceptions, covenant and borrowing base defaults, and past due loans. Responsible for accurate and timely risk rating of loan portfolio. Works with business and commercial lenders to structure and underwrite loans; endorses all key credit decisions for the market. Ensures adherence to credit policies and procedures and ensures that credit and non-credit losses and operational risk issues are effectively identified and are within acceptable guidelines. Ensures all compliance and audit requirements are implemented and met within the market. Leads the market team by Inspiring, motivating, developing, coaching, assessing and managing the commercial/business team. Sets expectations/goals and holds bankers accountable for results. Leads regularly scheduled sales/team meetings. Monitors performance against market goals to ensure revenue growth and cost management goals are met. Working with Human Resources, determines talent needs, recruits and selects talent, and manages terminations and reductions in force within the market. Manages expectations and monitors incentive/scorecard results to ensure individual accountability as well as alignment with Farmer's overall strategic plans and tactical objectives. Supports and actively participates in training and development efforts to ensure staff has the sales discipline acumen, relationship management skills, and other pertinent skills needed for the market to succeed in meeting its goals. Monitors staff within market in daily tasks, operations, and quality control to ensure available resources (e.g., staff, materials, etc.) are leveraged for best results.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc. Equivalent to a four-year college degree.
EXPERIENCE GENERAL 16
to 20 years related experience and/or training.
EXPERIENCE MANAGEMENT 8
years related management experience.
