Duties:
Support the Loan Asset Management Department, providing analytical assistance to Asset Managers who are responsible for a national portfolio of performing and non-performing commercial mortgage loans. Responsible for preparing analyses and reports for review by Asset Managers. Monitor assigned assets secured by multifamily, industrial, office, retail, hospitality, assisted living, mixed-use, and other commercial property types under the direction of Asset Managers. Review operating statements and rent rolls to evaluate property performance and identify potential credit risks, providing findings and options for manager review. Build and maintain financial models (e.g., projected cash flows, DSCR, debt yield, IRR, NPV) to inform recommendations prepared for Asset Manager/credit committee consideration. Ensure data integrity by accurately uploading, updating, and auditing inputs in Microsoft Excel and Argus; summarize and interpret outputs for supervisory review. Prepare draft internal memoranda with supporting analyses for assumptions, extensions, modifications, transfers, and other borrower requests for Asset Manager/credit approval. Conduct market research using CoStar (and Bloomberg, as applicable) or comparable platforms to gather tenant, borrower, comparable property, and market intelligence to support Asset Manager decisions. Coordinate with internal teams and external parties (e.g., brokers, counsel, consultants) to collect required data and documentation as directed by Asset Managers. Assist in underwriting new originations, refinancings, and ongoing monitoring by compiling and analyzing borrower and property-level data under Asset Manager supervision. Manage portfolio data and reporting to ensure timely, accurate delivery to stakeholders. Provide guidance to junior analysts on data collection, modeling, and reporting consistent with manager direction.
Salary:
$100,000
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or Real Estate, plus one (1) year of work experience in commercial real estate, finance, or loan analysis.
Experience must include:
Analyzing operating statements and rent rolls on a wide range of commercial property types including multifamily, industrial, office, retail, hospitality and assisted living facilities. Computing financial metrics such as projected cash flows, debt yields, Debt Service Coverage Ratios (DSCRs), and Internal Rates of Return (IRRs). Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of input data uploaded into Microsoft Excel and Argus financial models. Reviewing, validating, and interpreting outputs from financial models. Updating and managing financial data for portfolios of commercial mortgage loans, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. Assisting in the underwriting and ongoing monitoring of commercial loans and properties. Utilizing real estate market research tools such as CoStar, Real Capital Analytics (RCA), Trepp, and internal systems (Nexus) to gather market intelligence and support valuation and performance analysis.
