Credit Analyst

We currently have an opening for a Credit Analyst. The Credit Analyst is responsible for analyzing commercial loan relationships, assessing credit risk, and preparing credit presentations that support sound lending decisions. This position works closely with Commercial Lenders, Credit Administration, and other bank personnel to evaluate borrower financial performance, identify risk, and support portfolio management activities. This role provides a strong foundation for individuals interested in advancing within commercial banking and relationship management by developing expertise in credit analysis, underwriting, and business banking. Duties and Responsibilities Analyze financial statements, tax returns, cash flow statements, and other financial information to assess the creditworthiness of commercial borrowers. Identify, quantify, and communicate financial, operational, industry, and market risks associated with commercial lending relationships. Prepare accurate and comprehensive financial spreads, credit presentations, and underwriting analyses for new loan requests, renewals, modifications, and annual reviews. Organize qualitative and quantitative information into clear, concise, and professional credit packages for management and Loan Committee review. Present findings, observations, and recommendations to Commercial Lenders, Credit Officers, and Loan Committee members. Participate in customer and lender meetings to gain a thorough understanding of borrower operations, financing needs, and business objectives. Communicate directly with customers, lenders, accountants, and other third parties to obtain financial information and resolve questions. Assist with ongoing portfolio management activities, including annual reviews, covenant monitoring, risk rating assessments, and loan relationship monitoring. Identify potential credit concerns and communicate findings to appropriate management personnel. Maintain complete and accurate credit files in accordance with bank policy and regulatory requirements. Attend and actively participate in Loan Committee meetings and other departmental meetings. Develop a strong understanding of commercial banking products, services, and relationship management practices. Support Commercial Lenders in serving customer needs while identifying opportunities to strengthen existing banking relationships. Assist with special projects, reporting requirements, and departmental initiatives as assigned. Demonstrate a commitment to exceptional internal and external customer service. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. Previous banking, credit analysis, finance, accounting, or related experience preferred. Strong understanding of financial statement analysis and cash flow analysis. Ability to interpret financial statements, tax returns, and commercial credit documentation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Salary Range:
$50,000-$65,000
