Position OverviewThe Credit Analyst is responsible for analyzing financial information, assessing credit risk, and providing recommendations that support decision-making across consumer, agricultural, and commercial portfolios. This role partners closely with internal teams and leadership to ensure consistent, data-driven decisions aligned with North Stars standards.
What Youll DoAnalyze financial statements, tax returns, and credit reports to assess riskPrepare detailed credit presentations and recommendations for financing requestsEvaluate cash flow, debt service coverage, collateral, and overall financial strengthMonitor existing relationships and identify emerging risksPartner with internal stakeholders to structure solutions that balance member needs with sound risk managementEnsure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirementsSupport portfolio reporting, trend analysis, and overall credit quality reviewsWhat You BringBachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)3+ years of experience in credit analysis, financial services, or related field preferredStrong understanding of financial statements and cash flow analysisAbility to interpret and communicate complex financial data clearlyHigh attention to detail and strong organizational skillsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis toolsAbility to work collaboratively and manage multiple prioritiesWhat Sets You ApartExperience with agricultural or commercial credit analysisFamiliarity with a credit union or financial services environmentStrong critical thinking and decision-making skillsCommitment to delivering a high level of service aligned with the North Star WayWhy Join North StarBe part of a team that puts members firstContribute to meaningful financial decisions that impact local communitiesCollaborative, supportive culture focused on growth and developmentOpportunities to expand your knowledge across diverse areas of financial services
