In this role, you will evaluate and underwrite consumer and small business loan applications, analyze credit reports and income documentation, and assess risk within established policies and regulations. You will collaborate with branch and lending teams to structure member-focused credit solutions, document clear recommendations, and support regulatory compliance. Responsibilities Evaluate and underwrite consumer and small business loan applications within policy and regulatory guidelines Analyze credit reports, income documentation, and collateral to assess risk and repayment capacity Recommend approvals, counteroffers, or declines with clear documentation of credit decisions Monitor existing loan portfolio for early warning signs and recommend risk mitigation actions Partner with branch and lending teams to structure member-focused credit solutions Ensure compliance with federal and state lending regulations and internal credit policies Prepare credit memos and reports for management review and audit purposes Support member service by explaining credit decisions and available options professionally Contribute to process improvements to enhance turnaround time and portfolio quality Participate in ongoing training on credit, compliance, and financial products Required Skills Credit analysis Financial statement analysis Consumer lending Small business lending Risk assessment Regulatory compliance (NCUA, lending regs) Loan underwriting systems Portfolio monitoring Microsoft Excel Credit reporting systems (Experian/Equifax/Trans Union)
