The role will cover corporate credits across multiple sectors, spanning both the investment grade (IG) and high yield (HY) universes. The analyst will work closely with the Chief Investment Officer, portfolio managers and other members of the research team to develop and maintain fundamental credit views that inform security selection and portfolio construction across NIS's traditional fixed income and enhanced yield strategies. This is an excellent opportunity for a credit professional who wants broad cross sector exposure across the ratings spectrum, within a collaborativ, employee owned culture. This is a position where the analyst has the opportunity, and expectation, of having a high degree of influence on what is held in the portfolio. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive credit analysis by reviewing financial statements, cash flow reports, and industry data to determine creditworthiness spanning both investment grade and high yield credits. Perform risk assessments and develop detailed financial models to forecast company performance, repayment capacity and most importantly relative value. Prepare clear, detailed investment recommendations (buy/sell) and sector/issuer views to portfolio managers. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis, financial modeling, and report writing. Solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial statement interpretation, and technical accounting practices. Ability to analyze complex financial data using quantitative research methods and industry-specific software tools.
