Job Description

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education High school diploma or equivalent. Some college course work in accounting or bookkeeping is preferred. Math skills helpful. Experience Six months of Business Office experience is required. Experience with use of 10 key calculator is essential. However where candidates are not available, high school graduates with out work experience will be acceptable if they have training in the desired course work. Physical Normal hospital business office environment. Extremely close eye work with use of computer up to 8 hours a day. Hearing within normal range. Continuous sitting approximately 90% of the work day. Operates calculator, computer, copier and general office equipment. Continuous motion of hands and fingers in connection with data entry. Lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 10 lbs.
JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for reviewing credit balance reports and researching patient accounts to determine proper resolution of credit balances. Processes refunds to patients, insurance companies, or other organizations as needed. Attention to detail, accuracy and a professional demeanor must be displayed at all times.
