Job Description
Commercial Credit Specialist BTX Global Logistics is seeking a talented and professional individual with a track record of success within the global freight forwarding industry. The Commercial Credit Specialist is responsible for supporting our customer base. This position reports to the Credit & Collections Manager and will support all business units across North America. The ideal applicant will review the creditworthiness of businesses to determine the risk involved in extending credit. The Commercial Credit Specialist will be a key member of the BTX Global Logistics team. Responsibilities Include but
Not Limited To:
- Analyze credit data and financial statements or businesses to identify the degree of risk involved in extending credit.
- Request and advise maximum amount of credit insurance available for each individual company.
- Compare similar businesses in terms of liquidity, profitability, and credit histories.
- Obtain bank and vendor references as needed.
- Review agency reserves to confirm balances are sufficient.
- Compile information to ensure all documents have been submitted and applications have been completed.
- Compose reports that detail the degree of risk involved in credit requests and recommend approval or denial based on results.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Summary of Experience and Education:
High School degree or equivalent 5-7 years of previous Accounts Receivable/Credit experience, including account analysis and customer service Experience in a transportation industry or call center environment.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software, as well as analysis software.
- Basic understanding of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies used in credit analysis.
- Ability to identify and investigate discrepancies and problems.
- Euler and D&B Credit experience a plus.
- Proven diverse background in all aspects of credit within a logistics environment a plus.
