Job Description

Senior Credit Portfolio Review Specialist Location:
Charlotte, NC (Hybrid — 4 days on-site)
Type:
Direct Hire (Full-Time)
Compensation:
$160,000/year + bonus Overview We're seeking a senior-level credit/risk professional to support an independent Credit Review function. This role focuses on reviewing credit portfolios with Counterparty Credit Risk exposure and Structured Financing Transactions globally (e.g., hedge funds, asset managers, central counterparties). You'll partner with Portfolio Managers to execute a risk-based coverage plan, lead and perform detailed transaction reviews, and communicate findings to senior stakeholders. What You'll Do Establish and execute risk-based coverage plans with Portfolio Managers Lead or support examinations (including serving as Examiner-in-Charge or Assistant Examiner-in-Charge when needed) Perform transaction reviews and secondary reviews of testing completed by others Assess quality/effectiveness of credit decisions, processes, and policies Evaluate and analyze counterparty credit risk concepts (limits, exposures, margin practices, stress testing, ISDA/CSA, etc.) Manage issues (severity, action plans, tracking, validation) Produce clear, thorough workpapers and deliver timely, high-quality work Build relationships with risk/regulatory partners; support responses to inquiries Coach/mentor junior team members and help drive continuous improvement Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field 8-10+ years of commercial credit experience (underwriting, direct lending, workout, credit review, risk management, and/or regulatory) Strong knowledge of Counterparty Credit Risk and related frameworks/metrics Strong credit analysis + data manipulation/analysis skills Proven ability to deliver fact-based conclusions and influence senior leaders Strong project management, organization, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple complex priorities while maintaining high quality Preferred Qualifications 10+ years in Counterparty Credit Risk, Market Risk, or Credit Portfolio Management (especially hedge funds / prime brokerage / regulated funds) Prior experience in a Credit Review / independent risk review function Strong Excel skills Experience using AI tools to improve productivity/workflow Experience coaching or mentoring others Interested?
