GED Full Job Description Summary:
Under general supervision and in accordance with established policies and procedures, provides operational and administrative support for asset recovery activities. Responsibilities include title and lien processing, insurance tracking, loan and collateral documentation maintenance, payment processing, claims administration, reporting, reconciliations, and member support. Requires strong attention to detail, sound judgement, and knowledge of applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Asset Recovery, and Collateral Administration Process and track vehicle titles in accordance with DMV procedures, including reviewing funded loan reports, verifying member and vehicle information, running DMV CVR reports, and maintaining title status records. Process timely title releases using applicable DMV reports and procedures. Prepare and file lien instruments for motor vehicles pledged as collateral, maintain related records, process payments to the Department of Motor Vehicles, and coordinate lien renewals and releases. Monitor and track current insurance coverage for homes and vehicles, maintain SWBC records, and file related insurance documentation. Prepare mortgage loan modification packages. Track and maintain an accurate accounting of payments received on charged-off loans and accounts assigned to collection agencies. Track, update, and maintain records related to member claims for disability, GAP, and warranty products. Ensure delinquency notices, letters, and other member notifications are accurate and sent on time. Receive and accurately post payments to borrower accounts when payments are received from attorneys, courts, collection agencies, or other nontraditional sources. Assist members with disputes related to negative credit reporting. Process service disconnections for Mastercard debit and credit card accounts when required. Record information regarding members' financial status and collection efforts in the appropriate credit union records. Communicate with members using Etropy to text members regarding past-due accounts, proof of insurance, repossession redemption action, and/or any collection account question or concern. Reporting, Reconciliation, and Records Management Reconcile and balance collection and lending general ledger (GL) accounts monthly and at year-end. Generate, monitor, update, and report statistical information related to collection activities. Review and verify non-routine bills, schedules, receipts, invoices, and other documents, and maintain detailed records requiring classification and compilation of varied information. Perform complicated reconciliations, control functions, and compile special studies where analysis of data is required. Ensure that all documentation and file maintenance are accurate and complete. Recommend improvements to collection procedures and related workflows. Member Service and Administrative Support Sort and file correspondence. Perform general administrative support duties, including filing, data entry, recordkeeping, answering phones, photocopying, typing letters, and other routine office tasks. Independently respond to correspondence and handle inquiries, complaints, and adjustments. Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the efficient and effective operation of the Credit Union. Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. One year of DMV-related experience, preferably in a financial institution. One year of administrative experience, preferably in a financial institution.
