This role provides operational support across both Loan Booking and Loan Servicing functions based onbusiness needs and volumes. Responsible for the booking and renewal processes of all loan packages, booking them into the Core System while ensuring that all loan terms, conditions, and booking codes are complete and accurate. Also responsible for the ongoing servicing and maintenance of all loan products, while ensuring adherence to Bank policies and procedures, as well as servicing regulations.

Loan Processing Specialist
IIESSENTIALS OF THE JOB
Accountability BookingResponsible for the registration of all loans (new and renewed) into the Banks Core ensuring at all times integrity of the data: terms, loan product, codes. Input all the necessary information in the Banks core system and/or workflow ensuring that the loans booked/renewed in the system contain all required information in order to properly service and report them.

Process all loan disbursements properly according to funding instructions (for loans continue to be disbursed in a centralized manner) and balanced daily disbursements being handled in a decentralized manner. Ensure that loan disbursement instructions are balanced and are processed accurately.

Backup for Loan Processing team lead ServicingProvide cross-functional support between Loan Booking and Loan Servicing based on operational priorities and volume fluctuations.

Responsible for processing all loan payments and advances in an accurate and timely fashion ensuring proper loan accounting and compliance with federal regulations impacting the loan servicing area.

Responsible for the mass payment processing and maintenance of the portfolio and other specialized loans in the portfolio.

Responsible for the monitoring of SWAP loans ensuring that the loan and SWAP contract are maintained in balance.

Responsible for monitoring and processing of participations and syndicated loans where the Bank is in lead position to ensure timely processing of payments to and from participants.

Provide service to customers and banking officers as required in order to solve problems on a timely basis, including loan inquiry investigations in a timely manner.

Responsible for the processing of all Special Assets loans transactions: risk code adjustments, loan restructures, non-accrual, charge-offs, REPOs, OREOsOther ResponsibilitiesAssist in the reconciliation of loan related general ledger accounts.

Assist in reviewing loan operations reports to resolve errors and make proper adjustments when needed.

Maintain and provide accurate Key Performance Indicators data pertaining to the positionComplete audits as required.

Perform other related duties and assignments as required, including special projects.

Fill in for other functions within the department during absences.

Stay abreast of changes to federal regulations that might directly affect the loan servicing area.

Problem Solving Ensuring that all loans are disbursed timely and accuratelyAcceptance of loan accounts documentation. Rejection of improper loan packages.

Ensure data integrity at all times to avoid violations of government reporting, flood monitoring, losses in income.
Know HowFunctional Skills & Knowledge Requirements:
Superior customer service skills required. Ability to work within a team, ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Ability to communicate with all levels within the organization.

Minimum Education and/or
Certifications Requirements:
High school diploma required. Vocational training in legal documentation and loan accounting or comparable experience in lieu of education. Associates degree in Business preferred.
Minimum Work Experience Requirements:
Minimum five (5) to seven (7) years experience in loan processing, banking operations legal loan documentation and loan accounting experience required. Knowledge of banking regulations relating to domestic (multi-state) and international loans required. Wire transfer experience preferred. Must be bi-lingual in English and Spanish.

Technical and/or
Other Essential Knowledge:
Good analytical and accounting skills. Customer oriented. Knowledge of computer software (Excel and Word) IBS.
Working Conditions:
Physical Demands. 75% of the time sitting at a desk utilizing a PC. Theother 25% walking to and from other departments.

Stressors. Ensure data integrity while handling heavy volume of work (specially at end of month.). Shifting priorities. Telephone interruptions from different areas of the organization and ongoing changes requested by Loan Officers.
