Job Description
Position Summary The Loan Officer is responsible for processing, underwriting, and reviewing consumer loan, credit card, indirect lending, and mortgage applications while ensuring compliance with credit union policies and regulatory requirements. This role also provides excellent member service and supports various lending and operational functions. Key Responsibilities Review, process, and make lending decisions on consumer loan and credit card applications. Process indirect (dealer) loan applications and funding documentation. Assist with mortgage application processing, documentation, and tracking. Handle credit report disputes and maintain accurate records. Support VISA/credit card application processing and member inquiries. Communicate with members regarding loan products, application status, and documentation requirements. Ensure loan files are complete, accurate, and compliant with credit union policies and regulations. Maintain confidentiality of member information and identify compliance concerns when necessary. Assist with monthly and quarterly lending reports and audits. Provide backup support for lending-related systems, email, voicemail, and credit card operations. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred. Minimum 1 year of lending, loan processing, banking, credit union, or related financial services experience preferred. Knowledge of consumer lending, credit analysis, and loan documentation. Strong attention to detail, organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and lending-related software systems. Ability to provide excellent member service while managing multiple priorities.
