Job Description
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Advises potential borrowers with completion of loan applications; reviews submitted applications for accuracy, requesting additional information or detail as needed.
- Verifies information and financial history provided; acquires and analyzes borrowers' credit reports from major credit reporting bureau(s).
- Communicates clearly and responsively across multiple delivery channels (in-person, phone, text, email) with loan applicants and GenFed team members.
- Maintains thorough knowledge of Credit Union products and services as well as industry trends.
- Identifies best fit lending offerings and cross sale opportunities for potential and current members. Understands key lending ratios in support of identifying loan rates, terms, and risk.
- Explains lending decisions in a professional, courteous manner. Works with members to provide recommendations or alternative options for current and future loan opportunities.
- Cultivates a healthy pipeline of loan applications utilizing both inbound and outbound lead generation sources.
- Ensures the safety and soundness of GenFed's lending program by adhering to all relevant policies and regulations.
- Meets individual and team sales and performance goals defined by senior management
- Adheres to the most up to date 'Consumer Lending Agreement' that outlines performance goals.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and sales skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Products.
- Proficient problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable with multi-tasking in a fast-paced work environment.
- Thorough understanding of lending products.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous sales experience working directly with the public is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to travel at times.
