To be eligible to apply for the Forensic Science Internship, you must either be currently majoring or minoring in a Forensic Science Program, OR need this internship as a requirement for academic credit. This internship program will provide students with a real-world learning opportunity, which should prepare them to be workforce-ready upon graduation. The primary purpose of this internship is to provide students with opportunities to apply the topics and concepts they have learned while pursuing their degrees. This will also allow them to develop additional skills they can use in future roles. Finally, this internship will expose them to career opportunities within the Baltimore County Police Department. Internship Assignment The selected intern will be assigned to any section of the Police Department's Forensic Science Services. You must need this internship as a requirement for academic credit. Examples of Duties The selected interns will: Prepare CDs for the State's Attorney's Office Log information in and out of databases Research current analytical methods Contribute to ongoing projects Inventory reference collections Build skills related to the forensic science work environment
Qualifications Eligibility Requirements:
Be either an undergraduate student in their junior or senior year, or a graduate student College students must have at least a 2.8 cumulative grade point average (GPA) at the undergraduate level, or at least a 3.0 GPA at the graduate level A college transcript (unofficial is sufficient) is required as evidence of GPA Transcripts MUST have your name, grades for the most recent semester, and GPA listed to be acceptable.
