Job Description

Intern role name : Loan Servicing Intern (Fall) About HDC The New York City Housing Development Corporation (HDC) is a public benefit corporation and the nation's largest municipal Housing Finance Agency. HDC seeks to increase the supply of multi-family housing, stimulate economic growth, and revitalize neighborhoods by financing the creation and preservation of affordable housing for low-, moderate, and middle-income New Yorkers. HDC's programs support the construction and preservation of multi-family affordable housing in New York City.

Undergrad $18.00/hour If requested, HDC will support an intern's application for credit or stipend from their school/university.
Position Summary:
The insurance team monitors that projects serviced by HDC have insurance in place at all times and ensures that premium invoices are paid in time for escrowed projects.
Responsibilities:
Obtaining evidence of insurance and premium invoices from the insurance agents/brokers. Review and catalog insurance certificates into KnowledgeLake. Ensuring insurance records in Benedict are up-to-date. Working with the Loan Servicing Administrators and Managing Agents to ensure insurance compliance. Assisting in process efficiencies strategies
Required Qualifications:
Pursuing a BA, BS degree. This internship is open to all majors, but see "preferred qualifications" below for coursework areas most relevant to this opportunity Excellent communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Pivot Table) Understanding of basic mortgage and/or insurance concepts helpful
Preferred Qualifications:
Intermediate coursework in finance, accounting, economics, or public administration Knowledge of Federal, New York State, and New York City affordable housing programs is a plus It is strongly preferred that you submit a cover letter with your resume.
