Job Description
Cash Applications Specialist (Legal) Fairlawn, OH | Direct Hire | $58,000 - $65,000 DOE (Hybrid once trained 1-2 days work from home) Key Responsibilities Apply incoming payments, including checks, ACH payments, wire transfers, and credit card transactions, to client accounts and invoices accurately and timely. Reconcile daily cash receipts and investigate discrepancies to ensure accurate financial records. Partner with Billing, Accounts Receivable, and Client Services teams to resolve unapplied or misapplied payments. Communicate with clients, attorneys, and internal team members regarding payment details, account status, and remittance information. Process one-time credit card payments received by mail and email. Coordinate the transmittal of checks to the bank. Process account adjustments and corrections as needed. Maintain accurate documentation and records of all cash application activities. Identify opportunities to improve cash application processes and enhance operational efficiency. Required Hands-on experience with 3E Legal Accounting Software (required). Minimum of 2 years of cash application experience within a law firm or professional services environment. Microsoft Outlook and Excel. Excellent data entry, organizational, and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. Additional Requirements Candidates must successfully pass a background check and credit check as a condition of employment.
