Job Description:
Smith & Wilkinson is pleased to partner with Finex Credit Union in the search for its Vice President of Loan Servicing & Collections. This is a high-impact opportunity to join a growing, $134MM Connecticut credit union serving more than 16,000 members. Following its 2024 merger with First Connecticut Credit Union, Finex has expanded its membership and statewide presence and is focused on building the leadership team and operational infrastructure needed to support its next stage of growth. About the Role Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the Vice President will lead Finex's loan servicing and collections functions, with responsibility for a consumer loan portfolio. The VP will oversee consumer loan servicing, delinquency management, recoveries, post-closing quality control, vendor oversight, regulatory compliance, and the development of effective policies and procedures. The VP will lead and develop the collections team while helping build out the loan servicing function and creating a consistent, accountable approach across both areas. This is a hands-on leadership role with significant visibility across the organization. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to assess current practices, strengthen processes and controls, develop the team, and serve as Finex's internal authority on loan servicing and collections. As the organization continues to evolve, there is also potential for the position to take on broader operational responsibilities. The ideal candidate will bring experience in credit union or community bank loan servicing and collections, a strong understanding of consumer lending and regulatory requirements, and the ability to balance technical expertise with practical, hands-on leadership. The position may be based in either East Hartford or Wallingford, Connecticut, with a hybrid schedule. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious banking or credit union professional to step into a highly visible leadership position, build and improve critical functions, and play a meaningful role in the continued growth of Finex Credit Union.
