Insurance Specialist - Mortgage Loan Servicing Department

Job Duties:

Responsible for : Submitting payment of all hazard and flood insurance renewal premiums daily balancing generated and/or manual checks issued. Updating escrow information for insurance renewals and/or changes to policies in system to generate payment(s) to insurance vendor(s) in a timely manner to avoid cancellation. Verifying required insurance coverage is maintained on all loans, including verification that insurance company meets required rating guidelines. Additional remittances to insurance vendor(s) due to policy change(s). Responsible for assisting customer(s) with insurance claim check(s) and the processing of insurance refunds as needed. Responsible for updating Escrow Tickler Forecast report weekly to avoid unnecessary generated vendor payments. Following up on all cancellation and non-renewal notices, as well as, working Past Due and POI Tickler reports in order to maintain adequate coverage on collateral. Reconciling and remitting payment for various mortgage insurance premium billings. Monthly reconciliation and remittance of forced placed insurance premiums, as well as, adding &/or terminating coverage as necessary.

Requirements:

A High school education or equivalent required. A minimum of 6 hours college accounting or equivalent is required. One to two years' banking experience required with some basic insurance knowledge. Good computer skills and customer service skills. Must be organized and detail oriented.
