Job Description

The Loan Operations Specialist prepares loan documentation for signature, supports loan officers throughout the servicing process, coordinates customer appointments, and communicates professionally with internal and external customers. After loan closing and funding, the position services accounts by responding to inquiries, processing loan payments and other transactions, and resolving documentation discrepancies or outstanding requirements. The role also performs teller duties, including deposits and withdrawals, and completes other assigned responsibilities.
Supervisory responsibility:
None Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. 1-2 years of loan processing experience is a plus. Computer experience with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Word. Ability to quickly learn new software.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Prepare, review, and finalize accurate documentation for all loan types, ensuring applications, closing materials, and transaction terms are complete, properly structured, and compliant with bank policies, applicable requirements, assigned parameters, approved terms, and deadlines. Coordinate with lenders, attorneys, third-party providers, and customers throughout the application and closing process to obtain, order, analyze, and verify required documentation for moderate to complex loan transactions. Establish and maintain complete credit and loan files by retaining executed and funded documents and promptly resolving documentation exceptions or missing items. Service customer accounts by responding to inquiries, preparing and mailing notices, accepting loan payments, and processing deposits, withdrawals, and other routine financial transactions accurately and efficiently in person and by telephone. Safeguard bank cash, maintain a secure work environment, balance the cash drawer at the end of each shift, and follow established teller overage and shortage procedures. Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate banking products and services while providing professional, personable, and efficient service. Complete required training and maintain working knowledge of BSA, OFAC, Customer Identification Program requirements, and related bank policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Sitting/Mobility:
Approximately 70% of time is spent standing and/or spent working at a desk/teller station; the balance of time is spent moving around work areas.
Communication:
Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, members, and outside agencies in writing, in person, and over the phone.
Vision:
Ability to effectively use a computer screen and interpret printed materials, memo's, and other appropriate paperwork.
Lifting/Carrying:
Ability to transport files & office supplies.
Stooping/Kneeling:
Ability to access files/stock supplies in high or low cabinets and shelves.
Reaching/Handling:
Ability to input information into computer systems and retrieve and work with appropriate paperwork, equipment, and supplies.
