Role Description The Ocean Import role at Topasia is a full-time, on-site position based in West Covina, CA. This role is responsible for coordinating inbound ocean freight shipments, including booking cargo, monitoring vessel schedules, and ensuring accurate and timely documentation. Daily tasks include managing customs entry and clearance processes, tracking shipments, communicating status updates to customers and internal teams, and resolving issues that may arise during transit. The role also involves maintaining close relationships with carriers, customs brokers, and other partners to support efficient operations. The team member will use internal systems to maintain records, verify charges, and support continuous improvement in import processes aligned with Topasia's sustainability-focused logistics services. Qualifications Demonstrated skills in Import and Import Export operations, including documentation handling and shipment coordination. Knowledge of Export and International Trade practices, regulations, and compliance requirements. Strong Customer Service abilities, with experience managing client communications and responding to inquiries professionally. Familiarity with customs clearance processes, ocean freight procedures, and international shipping terms (Incoterms). Ability to work on-site in West Covina, CA, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Proficiency with logistics or freight management systems and standard office software tools. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines. Relevant experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain; an associate or bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or a related field is beneficial.
