Senior Entry Writer (Licensed Customs Broker | Client-Facing)

Position Summary We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Entry Writer (Licensed Customs Broker) to manage complex customs entry operations and serve as a key point of contact for clients. This role is primarily hands-on, requiring deep expertise in classification, compliance, and regulatory processing, while also supporting team coordination and workflow guidance. The ideal candidate is a licensed professional who can independently manage high-volume, high-complexity entries while ensuring full compliance with CBP and partner government agencies. Key Responsibilities Customs Entry Processing (Primary Responsibility) Process customs entries end-to-end (A-Z) with minimal supervision Perform advanced HTS classification across diverse commodities Handle complex and regulated entries, including: FDA (Prior Notice, PGA message sets)USDA, FCC, DOT
Fish & Wildlife, Lacey Act AD/CVD cases and high-risk shipments Transmit entries via ACE/ABI systems with high accuracy Resolve CBP/OGA holds, rejects, CF28/CF29 requests, and post-entry corrections Ensure timely cargo release, billing, and complete documentation Maintain audit-ready files in compliance with CBP regulations Operational Support & Coordination Assist in prioritizing daily entry workload and shipment timelines Review and validate entries for classification accuracy and compliance risks Provide guidance and support to junior entry writers as needed Monitor ACE reports, error logs, and rejects for timely resolution Identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements Ensure adherence to internal SOPs and compliance standards Qualifications Active U.S. Customs Broker License (REQUIRED) 5-8+ years of hands-on customs entry experience (high-volume environment preferred) Proven experience handling multi-OGA and complex regulated shipments Strong expertise in: HTS classification and tariff interpretation FDA compliance (Prior Notice, food/medical imports) AD/CVD case handling Advanced working knowledge of ACE/ABI systems (e.g., CargoWise, Descartes, or similar) Solid understanding of: CBP regulations (19 CFR) Entry types (Consumption, ISF, TIB, Warehouse, etc.) Experience handling:CF28/CF29
responses Post-entry amendments and corrections Customs audits and compliance reviews Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in time-sensitive situations Excellent written and verbal communication skills (client-facing role) High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously Preferred Qualifications Experience in a client-facing or account management role Background in training or mentoring junior staff Experience with process improvement or SOP development Familiarity with drawback, protests, or duty optimization strategiesBenefits:
