Air & Ocean Import Coordinator Location:
Miami, FL (in-office) About the Role Our client, a freight forwarder based in Miami, is looking for someone with a positive attitude who thrives in a fast-paced environment, with a background in international logistics and transportation. The Import Coordinator processes and handles air and ocean import shipments for customers, ensuring the highest quality standards and providing service solutions that meet or exceed customer requirements. Key Responsibilities Review cargo documentation for accuracy and completeness, correcting inaccurate or incomplete information, and escalate serious or recurring issues to management or the overseas office Pay or arrange payment of port terminal fees and airline fees Coordinate with carriers, customs brokers and trucking companies to ensure timely delivery of goods Track shipments and provide status updates to customers as needed Prepare and submit required customs clearance documentation, including commercial invoices, bills of lading and other relevant paperwork Ensure compliance with customs regulations and trade laws Manage customer relationships and provide excellent service throughout the shipment lifecycle Bill/invoice each file to the appropriate customer, paying close attention to payment terms Check and approve vendor invoices Communicate shipment arrivals and dispatch instructions to the warehouse team in a timely manner Skills Active listening and clear communication Ability to multi-task across several shipments at once Strong complex problem-solving and critical-thinking skills Excellent organizational and time-management skills Knowledge of ocean and air freight logistics, customs regulations and trade laws Fluent English required; additional languages a plus Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required (or equivalent combination of education and experience) Minimum 3 years' experience in imports Experience with import entry procedures, compliance, rules and regulations preferred Knowledge of First Port of Arrival (FPOA) entry processes preferred FDA experience preferred Knowledge of Importer Security Filing (ISF) preferred Working knowledge of OGA transactions preferred Environment Fully office-based role performed in a climate-controlled office environment under normal office conditions.INDUS Pay:
