Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Ocean Import Specialist II to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will manage end-to-end ocean import operations, ensuring seamless coordination of shipments from international suppliers to final destinations. Your expertise in supply chain management, transportation logistics, and client relationship management will be essential to delivering exceptional service and maintaining compliance with international trade regulations. Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and oversee ocean import shipments, including booking cargo space with carriers and NVOCCs (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carriers) Manage documentation such as bills of lading, customs clearance paperwork, and trade compliance documentation Liaise with carriers, customs brokers, and clients to ensure timely shipment processing and delivery Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) platforms for data entry, shipment tracking, and status updates Handling FCL and LCL shipments from the Pre-alert to end delivery via FTL and LTL Negotiate rates and service terms with carriers, freight forwarders, and other logistics partners Monitor shipment progress, resolve delays or issues proactively, and communicate updates to clients Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and customs requirements Maintain accurate records within CRM software for client communication and account management Support sales efforts by providing logistics solutions tailored to client needs Collaborate with internal teams on transportation planning, freight brokerage, and logistics sales initiatives Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience in ocean freight forwarding logistics or a related supply chain role Strong understanding of international trade regulations, shipping logistics, and customs procedures Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS), CRM software, and EDI platforms Experience with freight brokerage, 3PL (Third-Party Logistics), and freight forwarding logistics Knowledge of air freight options as part of integrated supply chain solutions Excellent negotiation skills for carrier sales and contract management Demonstrated ability in customer service, client relationship management, and inside sales Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for data entry, reporting, and communication purposes Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and data accuracy Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities If you are passionate about logistics operations and eager to contribute your expertise in a collaborative setting, we invite you to apply today. Pay:
$60,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
