Role:

Landstar Logistics Agent is looking for a driven and detail-oriented Import Manager to join our team in Wheaton, IL. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of international supply chain operations and play a key role in keeping our global business moving. Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage all import operations, including shipment tracking, customs clearance, and delivery coordination Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations, trade laws, and import/export documentation requirements Build and maintain relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and international suppliers Review and process import documentation including commercial invoices, bills of lading, and packing lists Monitor and manage import costs, identifying opportunities to reduce freight and duty expenses Coordinate with internal teams including purchasing, warehouse, and finance to ensure seamless supply chain flow Stay current on tariff classifications, HTS codes, and changes in trade regulations

Requirements:

4+ years of experience in import logistics, customs compliance, or international supply chain management Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, HTS codes, and trade compliance requirements Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and international vendors Proficiency in import management software and Microsoft Office Suite Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and negotiation skills for vendor and carrier relationship management
