Successful candidates must demonstrate the ability to work efficiently in a team environment. The person must be organized and have the ability to multitask and a goal of long-term employment. We want an individual that possesses critical thinking skills to problem-solve when faced with new or unfamiliar situations. Manage import documentation, ensuring compliance with federal trade laws, and coordinating cargo releases with customs authorities. This position will follow a Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM time schedule. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Prepare and file customs import ocean and air entry shipments from pick up at overseas origin to delivered in the USA including customs clearance. File ISF's and prepare single entry and ISF bonds. Review commercial invoices, bills of lading, packing lists, and HTSU classifications for accuracy Strong consideration will be given to any individual that has an operational background with project/ out of gauge (OOG) cargo. Knowledge of Customs regulations and PGA's with particular attention to
CPSC, USDA
(Lacey Act) and FDA, dangerous goods. Continuous daily communication with clients, agents, truckers, warehouses, airlines and terminal operators is critical to the position. Education High School diploma required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred Industry Education General Expectations and Skills required: 2-3 years of industry experience working for a customs broker/freight forwarder Familiarity with customs regulations, CCS (Certified Customs Specialist) preferred Analytical thinker with problem solving skills Strong organizational skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision Strong written and interpersonal skills. Computer skills and experience using the Descartes/IES platform and Microsoft Office tools. Continuing education within the industry. Salary Range:
$52,000 to $62,400 yearly (depending on skills and experience) Medical, dental, and vision coverage assistance.
