Full-time, Permanent About the Role Our client, an established freight forwarder, is looking for an experienced Airfreight Coordinator to manage the end-to-end coordination of import and export air shipments. You'll be the key point of contact between customers, airlines, overseas agents, and internal teams, ensuring shipments move smoothly and compliantly from origin to destination. This is a hybrid role, combining time in the office with the flexibility to work from home. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and manage import and export airfreight shipments from booking through to delivery, ensuring accuracy and on-time performance. Liaise with airlines, overseas agents, customers, and hauliers to arrange bookings, track shipments, and resolve any issues that arise in transit. Prepare and process shipping documentation, including air waybills, commercial invoices, customs declarations, and certificates of origin. Ensure full compliance with customs regulations, dangerous goods requirements (where applicable), and other relevant import/export legislation. Accurately maintain shipment records and job files in Magaya, ensuring all data, milestones, and costings are kept up to date. Manage rate negotiations and bookings with airlines and consolidators to secure competitive pricing and capacity. Monitor shipments proactively, providing customers with regular status updates and resolving delays or exceptions promptly. Process supplier invoices and raise customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring costs are correctly recorded against each job. Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, agents, and carriers to support service levels and business growth. Identify and escalate any operational, compliance, or service issues to the Airfreight Manager as needed. Support continuous improvement of airfreight processes and procedures. Skills & Experience Required Proven experience in an airfreight coordinator, operations, or similar role within a freight forwarding environment. Solid working knowledge of both import and export airfreight processes. Hands-on experience using Magaya software is desirable. Good understanding of customs procedures, documentation requirements, and Incoterms. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-focused approach. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid working environment. High attention to detail and accuracy, particularly with documentation and data entry. Problem-solving mindset with the ability to remain calm under pressure. IATA/dangerous goods certification is desirable but not essential.
INDUS Pay:
$70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
