We are seeking dependable, motivated individuals to join our team as a Boarding Agent . This position combines office responsibilities with field work and offers a unique opportunity to work in the maritime industry. Job Responsibilities Board vessels via gangways while ships are underway in the Mississippi River or alongside berths. Monitor and service vessels calling at ports from the mouth of the Mississippi River to Baton Rouge . Remain on-call and respond to vessel arrivals, often requiring extensive driving and irregular, extended work hours. Prepare and submit all required vessel entrance and clearance documentation. Conduct in-person filings at U.S. Customs offices located in New Orleans, Gramercy, and Baton Rouge . Coordinate and communicate with the U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, vessel crews, terminals, and other maritime stakeholders. Send professional emails and prepare reports and documents using Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel. Perform a combination of office-based administrative duties and field operations. Qualifications Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Valid driver's license and the ability to travel extensively throughout the assigned service area. Ability to work on-call, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts as vessel schedules require. Ability to safely board vessels using gangways in varying weather and operational conditions. Previous maritime industry experience is preferred but not required . We are willing to train the right candidate.
