Job Description A client in the Huntsville area is looking for a Director of Finance and Accounting to joint their growing team. The Director of Accounting is a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for overseeing all accounting operations and ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of financial reporting across the organization and its affiliated entities. Reporting directly to executive leadership, this individual will manage day-to-day accounting functions, financial close processes, government contract accounting compliance, audit readiness, and internal controls. The role requires extensive experience in federal government contracting and a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, financial reporting standards, and accounting best practices. Working closely with Finance, Program Control, Contracts, Compliance, Human Resources, and Operations teams, the Director of Accounting will drive efficient business processes, support organizational growth, maintain compliance with applicable regulations, and provide accurate financial information to support strategic decision-making and business objectives. Experience with cost plus, fixed-price, and time-and-material (T&M) contracts Strong experience with: Government contract accounting, Financial reporting, General ledger management, revenue recognition, indirect rate structures, incurred cost submissions, audit support and compliance Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field Experience working with a tribal owned company Certified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferred Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field Experience with mergers, acquisitions, integrations, or rapid-growth environments Unanet Accounting system experience
