Job Description

Join the Muscular Moving Men Team! Muscular Moving Men is a fast-growing Arizona moving and logistics company, and we're looking for an experienced Director of Accounting to join our team and help support the next stage of our growth. As we continue to grow, we're looking for someone who can bring that same energy and ownership to our accounting department! This is a great opportunity for an accounting leader who enjoys building strong teams, improving processes, solving problems, and having a real voice in the financial direction of a growing company. What You'll Be Doing As our Director of Accounting, you'll lead the day-to-day operations of our accounting department and work closely with Executive Leadership to make sure our financial reporting and processes are accurate, organized, and running smoothly. You'll be responsible for: Leading and supporting our accounting team, including both in-office employees and remote VAs Manage the onboarding, setup, and ongoing payment process for remote Virtual Assistants (VAs), ensuring payments are accurate, timely, and properly documented. Overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, collections, and reconciliations Managing month-end and year-end close processes Reviewing financial statements, reports, and accounting records for accuracy Preparing and analyzing budgets, forecasts, cash flow, and financial performance Maintaining accurate financial information within QuickBooks and other accounting systems Improving accounting processes, workflows, and internal controls Identifying and resolving discrepancies or financial concerns Helping develop the accounting team through training, guidance, and clear expectations Providing Executive Leadership with accurate financial reporting and useful insights Working with outside accountants, auditors, tax professionals, vendors, and financial partners as needed Who We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is confident in their accounting knowledge but also enjoys working with people. You should be comfortable taking ownership of the department, asking questions, finding solutions, and jumping in when something needs attention! You'll be a great fit if you have: Strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting principles, and financial reporting Accounting leadership or management experience Experience overseeing multiple accounting functions and closing processes Strong QuickBooks and accounting software experience Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills Experience leading both in-person and remote team members Strong organization and attention to detail The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines A problem-solving mindset and willingness to improve existing processes Strong communication skills and the ability to explain financial information clearly Good judgment when handling confidential or sensitive information Pay & Benefits $80,000-$100,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Because this is a leadership position, there may occasionally be times when additional hours are needed to meet deadlines or support month-end, year-end, or other business needs.
