Overview Risk Program Administrators (RPA) is a division of Gallagher providing a full -spectrum of risk management consulting services to public, private, and nonprofit entities across the United States. Though we pride ourselves on being able to tackle virtually anything in the risk management space, our core services include: self-insured program administration; alternative risk financing analysis; third-party vendor management; loss control and prevention; claims administration and insurance coverage review. We are now hiring for a Director, Client Accounting & Finance to join our team! How you'll make an impact The Director, Client Accounting & Finance is responsible for overseeing the General Accounting and Financial Reporting functions for the organization as well as for the Firm s trust clients. The department is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of internal controls that ensure company and client assets are safeguarded and that all financial reporting is prepared in compliance with financial policies and accounting standards. This position is also responsible for supervising staff, including involvement in hiring decisions, performance evaluation, and discipline, as well as scheduling, and directing their work.
Responsibilities include the following:
Externally facing, client fulfillment role primarily focused on guiding senior management and other key client personnel in making educated economic decisions and ensuring client assets are safeguarded. Concentrated on implementation and maintenance of internal controls and compliance of all financial reporting with policies and accounting standards.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing financial operational and reporting activities, not limited to, accounting, financial reporting, financial planning and budgeting; Providing economic, strategic, and operational planning information and analysis; and Organizing work relating to internal and external audits. May oversee disbursement activities, account receivables, and participate in a variety of special projects and reports. Directs function through subordinate management roles; accountable for leading team. Oversees the general accounting function, which includes intercompany accounting, cash management/reconciliation, financial reporting Accounting system design, development and implementation Accounting procedures / policy development, implementation and compliance Coaching, training and developing a team Full cycle accounting management Leading process improvements and creating SOP s Creating and leading presentations for leadership and BOD s Other duties as assigned.
About You Required:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or Business. 7 years related experience required. Ability to translate financial concepts. Strong technical skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Expert proficiency in Excel and QuickBooks. Strong communication and leadership skills. Excellent analytical skills.
Preferred:
Public Accounting experience highly preferred. Master's degree desirable. Cooperative attitude and ability to work both individually and in a team. Patience, resiliency and tolerant of stressful situations. Focus and attention to detail, ability to multitask. Strong organizational skills.
