The Manager, Accounting & Finance oversees financial consistency and integrity across all areas of the operation. This role leads the accounting function's day-to-day execution and long-term process improvement — from setting standards for revenue recognition (ensuring items are marked as sold only upon confirmed payment) to owning the accuracy and structure of sales trackers and financial reporting delivered to executive leadership. The Manager will supervise associate-level staff, establish internal controls, and serve as the primary point of accountability for ensuring the company's financials are neither overstated nor understated. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both technical accounting expertise and the judgment to build and refine processes as the business scales. Qualifications Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or CMA certification strongly preferred. 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, including prior experience managing or mentoring staff. Advanced proficiency with Excel and Google Sheets; experience with accounting software/ERP systems a plus. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with operations, inventory, and quality teams in a fast-paced environment. Proven ability to manage competing priorities, enforce deadlines across a team, and maintain rigorous organizational standards. Experience developing or improving financial reporting processes and internal controls. Responsibilities Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including data entry, accounts payable, and accounts receivable management. Reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations. Process payroll using systems such as ADP, Kronos, or UltiPro, ensuring timely and accurate payroll management. Prepare journal entries and perform account analysis to support financial reporting. Maintain and update accounting software systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or Ceridian. Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements. Assist with governmental and non-profit accounting procedures, including tax preparation and audit support. Conduct detailed Excel data analysis for financial reporting and decision-making. Handle confidential information with discretion while providing excellent customer service to internal stakeholders. Support budgeting processes and perform credit analysis as needed. Skills Extensive experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, Workday, or similar platforms. Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, GAAP standards, and governmental accounting practices. Proficiency in financial software including Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, and other payroll or HR systems. Skilled in Excel data analysis, spreadsheets management, and 10-key typing for efficient data entry. Knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, account reconciliation, and balance sheet management. Ability to interpret financial concepts related to accounts payable/receivable, general ledger reconciliation, and account analysis. Excellent numeracy skills combined with attention to detail for accurate financial recordkeeping. Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining confidentiality. Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments and supporting audit processes. This position is integral to ensuring the organization's financial integrity through meticulous bookkeeping practices and comprehensive accounting expertise. We welcome candidates committed to accuracy, continuous improvement in financial processes, and upholding the highest standards of professionalism.
