Job Description
Position Overview The CAS Department Head is a senior leadership role responsible for leading, growing, and optimizing the Firm's Client Accounting Services practice. This position sets the strategic vision for the department, oversees service delivery and operational performance, develops high-performing teams, and serves as a trusted advisor to key clients. The role partners closely with firm leadership on service offerings, pricing, technology, and growth initiatives while ensuring the practice delivers scalable, high-quality advisory and accounting services. Key Responsibilities Define and execute the strategy, growth plans, and service standards for the CAS practice. Lead client relationships, provide strategic advisory services, and oversee engagement scope, pricing, quality, and profitability. Recruit, develop, and mentor team members while managing staffing, performance, and succession planning. Drive operational excellence through process improvement, technology adoption, and scalable workflows. Manage the financial performance of the practice, including budgeting, revenue growth, profitability, and business development. Maintain expertise in accounting, payroll tax, and outsourced accounting while serving as a subject matter leader within the firm. Ensure consistent service delivery, risk management, and client satisfaction across all CAS engagements. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. 10+ years of accounting and advisory experience, including 5+ years in leadership. Proven success leading teams and growing a profitable CAS practice. CPA preferred. Strong leadership, business development, strategic planning, and client relationship management skills. Success in the Role Within the first year, the successful candidate will establish a scalable organizational structure, create a multi-year technology and process improvement roadmap, and develop growth plans for CAS team members to support the firm's long-term objectives.
