About the Role We're looking for an experienced accounting leader to own GAAP financial reporting, forecasting and analysis, accounting policy, and the firm's annual audit. This role also owns internal tax compliance, including payroll taxes and registrations, and plays a key part in evaluating, integrating and optimizing financial systems that support the firm's continued growth. You'll manage the accounting team, partner closely with the CFO on financial strategy, and bring a point of view on how automation, financial systems, and AI can strengthen and scale the firm's financial infrastructure. Salary Range $150K+ base, commensurate with experience and qualifications, plus annual bonus. What You'll Own GAAP Financial Reporting & Policies Own the preparation and integrity of the firm's GAAP financial statements and supporting schedules Develop, document, and maintain firmwide accounting policies and procedures, ensuring consistent application of GAAP Own the annual audit process end-to-end, serving as the firm's primary point of contact for external auditors; manage process for efficient and on-time audit, resolve audit findings and strengthen internal controls M&A financial integrations, purchase price accounting Financial Systems & Integrations Own and maintain the firm's financial systems and their integrations, identifying and implementing technology, automation, and AI-driven tools to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability Partner with IT and other departments to evaluate, implement, and integrate new systems Build infrastructure and processes designed to scale with the firm's organic and inorganic growth Tax Compliance Oversee the firm's internal tax compliance, including federal, multi-state and local income taxes, payroll tax filings, registrations, and related regulatory requirements Partner with tax advisors as needed on complex compliance matters Team Leadership & Partnership Directly supervise and develop the accounting department, including performance feedback, mentoring, and staffing decisions Report to the CFO, serving as a key partner on financial strategy and operations
Requirements:
What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; CPA preferred 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including supervisory experience Strong knowledge of GAAP financial reporting and internal controls Audit experience preferred, as an auditor, as part of an internal audit function, or as the primary point of contact for an external audit Experience using automation, systems, or AI to improve processes Experience in a private equity-backed environment, including M&A and integrations, helpful Familiarity with payroll tax compliance and multi-jurisdiction registrations Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills; comfortable partnering with firm leadership Proven ability to consistently meet deadlines including month end close, payroll, audit, and tax filings without sacrificing quality Why Join Pease Bell?
