Job Description

Header:
Job Summary Due to an upcoming retirement, we are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Controller to lead our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting. This pivotal role involves overseeing accounting functions, managing budgets, and supporting strategic decision-making to drive company growth. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in construction finance, project management, and construction management software to facilitate seamless financial oversight across multiple projects. As a Controller, you will be instrumental in maintaining compliance, optimizing financial processes, and fostering a culture of accuracy and transparency within our organization.

Responsibilities
  • Hands-on management of A/R(Billing), A/P, Payroll and G/L functions
  • Prepare financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, account reconciliations, and entity reporting with emphasis on percentage-of-completion accounting and revenue recognition
  • Forecast cash flow on a regular basis and propose quarterly cash distributions to parent company
  • Monthly, quarterly and year end Payroll taxing authority reporting and statutory reporting
  • Ensure timely invoicing to customers and accrual of accounts payable
  • Responsible for maintaining timeclock and NAV job cost system;
  • Complete TimeClock Plus(TCP) server based software to cloud based;
  • Provide monthly, quarterly, and year-end analyses;
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong accounting knowledge and 5-10 years of work experience including supervisory experience
  • Public accounting experience (2-4 years of audit experience preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • CPA required
  • Working knowledge of revenue recognition accounting standards (e.g. percentage-of-completion accounting)
  • Multi-entity financial reporting and financial consolidations experience preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
  • Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices
  • Teamwork and leadership skills with colleagues outside of the accounting and reporting environment to accomplish goals and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in multitasking/prioritizing and ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics/NAV preferred; experience with Sage Intacct accounting software preferred
  • Lead an outside accounting firm through annual audits of the financial statements; assist parent company's tax preparer as needed Serve as 401k co-trustee
  • Augment IT Support function as needed in addition to outside service providers;
  • Other duties as assigned including special projects, back up payroll, A/P and A/R(billing)
  • Hire and cross train assistant controller to provide redundancy of critical tasks
Pay:
$150,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
