Job Description

Faulkner University is seeking a qualified individual to serve as Financial Aid Officer . The successful candidate is responsible for providing financial aid application counseling to students and parents, as well as assisting in the administration of the financial aid program. This individual will make decisions to award funds to students eligible for scholarships, grants and college work study. Faulkner University is a Christian university affiliated with the churches of Christ. This is a full-time (40 hours a week) position.
Summary of Duties:
Award Federal, State and Institutional funds in accordance with approved policies Certification of all financial aid applications (loans, grants, etc.) Assist in processing the Alabama Student Grants Counsel students and prospective students on all financial aid programs including loans, grants and scholarships Assist students in the completion of their financial aid file Represent the University and the Financial Aid office at meetings assigned by the Director Assist with student registrations, both on and off campus Assist in preparation of the various cost of attendance budgets Assist with periodic training sessions for extension center personnel
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred Experience in PowerFAIDS software helpful Active member of the church of Christ For initial application submit: Resume Cover letter Employment is conditional upon a satisfactory background check and verification of work authorization through E-Verify.
