Job Description

Buena Vista University is seeking candidates for a part time Financial Aid Clerk opportunity with the Financial Aid Office. This position plays a vital behind-the-scenes role in ensuring students receive accurate and timely financial aid awards by assisting with data processing, record maintenance, and compliance-related activities. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who enjoys working with data, maintaining accuracy, and contributing to student success through operational excellence. Essential Responsibilities Assist with the processing, awarding, and adjustment of financial aid packages. Review financial aid applications and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy. Enter and maintain student financial aid records in institutional systems. Process verification documents and monitor required student file completion. Support the administration of federal, state, institutional, and scholarship aid programs. Monitor awarding workflows and assist with timely processing of financial aid applications. Generate and review reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations. Assist with financial aid audits, reconciliation activities, and special projects. Maintain organized electronic records and documentation. Ensure confidentiality of student information and compliance with FERPA and institutional policies. Perform other administrative and clerical duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Associate degree in Business, Accounting, Office Administration, or a related field. Experience in higher education, financial aid, accounting, or records administration. Familiarity with student information systems and financial aid software. Knowledge of financial aid regulations and compliance requirements.

Strong analytical and data-entry skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Excellent organizational and recordkeeping abilities. Ability to learn and apply complex policies, procedures, and regulations. Commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and quality work. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
