Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
Counsels students regarding the financial aid process and payment programs. Responsible for financial aid awarding. Performs various functions to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal, state and institutional regulations, policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Review financial aid applications to determine a student's eligibility to participate in federal, state and/or institutional aid programs. Advise prospective and current students on financial aid options, application processes and eligibility requirements. Request, collect and review required documents from students to determine federal student aid eligibility. . Work professionally with all necessary stakeholders at the institution to determine aid eligilbity and/or problem solve issues as required. Maintain federal compliance in accordance with federal, state and institutional regulations when awarding all aid. Provide excellent customer service with internal and external stakeholders when communicating via email, in person and/or over the phone. Resolve all conflicting information, regulatory issues, verification and/or any issues related to determining aid eligibility in a timely manner. Review Satisfactory Academic Progress as required. Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Experience with Excel/Sheets required. Knowledge of working with databases is preferred.
