Job Summary The Financial Aid Counselor I assists prospective and current students with all matters related to acquiring and maintaining financial aid. Duties Participates and collaborates in outreach activities and special events planning Creates, organizes, maintains, and promotes financial aid information Advises students of the financial aid process and procedures Responds to students' questions and concerns Marginal Duties Performs all other duties as assigned

Knowledge of the financial aid process in a higher education environment, and of the related trends, issues, and practices

Skills:

Good technical skills, including proficiency in MS Publisher and Outlook; strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Abilities:

Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community
