Job Description

AVA Consulting is seeking a

Financial Analyst:

Description :

Analyzes and reconciles accounts. Prepares and annotates variance reports. Works with operating plans to create supporting financial budgets. Performs research to understand the accounting consequences of alternative approaches. Ensures adherence to financial guidelines and standards. Reviews monthly report for complex order accounting per FERC guidelines to ensure O&M and capital costs are accurately allocated. Audits and approves vendor invoices for accuracy and SOX compliance. Prepares and processes journal entries in SAP. Corresponds with vendors to gather monthly accrual data, prepares proper accrual documentation, and submits to Accounts Payable. Audits data dashboard daily for order O&M costs that belong to capital per FERC guidelines.

Requirement:

Requires 2-5 years of related experience. Knowledge of accounting practices and compliance requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. SAP experience a plus. Working knowledge of popular financial management applications. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present financial analysis to management Strong team player. HS Diploma- 4 year degree preferred, but can be substituted for equivalent work experience
