Job Description
Description We are looking for a Senior Financial Risk Analyst to join a Long-term Contract opportunity based in Menlo Park, California. In this role, you will help strengthen the organization's approach to liquidity and market risk by delivering thoughtful analysis, practical forecasting insights, and decision-ready reporting. The position works closely with partners across Treasury, Finance, Product, Data, and Engineering to support informed risk decisions in a fast-moving business environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assess enterprise-wide financial exposures and highlight material risk developments for leadership through clear, data-driven analysis.
- Examine liquidity and market risk trends by performing quantitative reviews that surface vulnerabilities and emerging areas of concern.
- Build, refine, and maintain forecasting approaches and analytical models that support ongoing financial risk evaluation.
- Provide treasury-focused analysis related to liquidity positioning, capital considerations, and counterparty risk exposure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify financial risk implications tied to new business initiatives, products, and strategic changes.
- Prepare regular executive-facing reports as well as custom analyses that translate complex findings into actionable insights.
- Strengthen risk management processes, reporting routines, and internal controls to improve accuracy, efficiency, and consistency.
- Use SQL and Python-based analysis to organize data, test assumptions, and support scalable risk monitoring frameworks. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or another quantitatively focused field.
- 3-5 years of experience in treasury analytics, financial risk, quantitative analysis, data analytics, or a closely related area.
- Strong capability in risk analysis, problem-solving, and interpreting complex financial data with a high level of accuracy.
- Working knowledge of liquidity risk management, stress testing, scenario analysis, value-at-risk, and sensitivity-based assessment methods.
- Understanding of financial markets, investment products, macroeconomic drivers, and core risk management practices.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python for data analysis, modeling, and reporting.
- Ability to explain technical concepts and analytical conclusions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success improving processes and independently driving projects from planning through execution.
