Role Description Alta Developers is seeking a Junior Financial Analyst with a strong academic foundation in both finance and accounting to join our Miami office. This is a full-time, on-site position designed for an early-career professional who wants to develop a comprehensive understanding of both the financial and accounting sides of real estate development . The Analyst will work closely with our finance and accounting teams and will gain hands-on exposure to the financial reporting and accounting processes underlying our development projects. Responsibilities will include financial analysis, accounting and financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, cash-flow analysis, reconciliations, and project-level reporting. The role will also provide exposure to financial modeling, investment analysis, project development, financing, and other areas of the business. Over time, the Analyst will have the opportunity to take on broader analytical responsibilities across Alta Developers' development and investment activities. We are specifically looking for candidates who combine the analytical mindset of a finance professional with a strong understanding of accounting fundamentals . Responsibilities Assist with project and corporate accounting, financial reporting, and month-end processes Analyze financial statements, general ledger activity, project costs, cash flows, and budget-to-actual results Assist with account reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and supporting schedules Prepare and maintain financial models, forecasts, budgets, and project-level reports Work with project managers and accounting personnel to understand project costs, commitments, contracts, and cash requirements Assist in analyzing real estate development projects and potential investment opportunities Support due diligence, financing, and investment analysis Conduct market research and analyze real estate and economic trends Prepare financial reports and presentations for senior management and other stakeholders Identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities through detailed financial analysis Collaborate across accounting, finance, development, asset management, and other areas of the organization Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Real Estate, or a related field Strong academic background in both finance and accounting Candidates should have completed multiple college-level accounting courses , with coursework such as Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Intermediate Accounting, Cost Accounting, or similar strongly preferred Coursework or experience in Corporate Finance, Financial Analysis, Investments, Real Estate Finance, or Financial Modeling preferred Strong understanding of the three primary financial statements and how they relate to one another Familiarity with accounting concepts including accrual accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong overall Microsoft Office skills Ability and desire to work with detailed financial and accounting information Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across multiple teams High level of attention to detail, organization, and accountability Prior internship or professional experience in real estate, finance, accounting, investment banking, private equity, or a related field is a plus 0-2 years of professional experience preferred Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who is equally comfortable working through the details of an accounting schedule and analyzing the financial performance of a real estate investment . This position is particularly well suited for a recent graduate or early-career professional who studied finance but also pursued substantial accounting coursework-or an accounting graduate with a strong interest in finance, investments, and real estate.
