Typically works with a collection of investments called a portfolio, though can also advise clients about individual investments. Studies trends that impact investments and writes reports regarding economic and business changes and activities that affect the value of investments. Can also be involved in the selling of investments, such as stocks. Works mainly in investment firms, though can also be employed in lending institutions, corporate finance departments, banks or insurance companies.

Job Description
KSU SMIF
(Student Managed Investment Fund) organization. ResponsibilitiesKEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Reviews weekly holdings, monitors duration, tracks issuer concentration and credit quality, monitors liquidity, and identifies reinvestment opportunities. 2. Organizes trade orders for execution, prepares summaries of proposed trades with rationale and impact on the portfolio, and provides comparisons across short-term instruments to support decisions. 3. Reviews OCIO pitch decks and short-term liquidity recommendations to summarize, highlight actionable ideas for the KSUF cash portfolio, and assist in evaluating externally managed liquidity strategies. 4. Monitors market interest rates, follows Federal Reserve policy and front-end yield movement to develop recommendations, and provides weekly short-term market commentary with investment recommendations. 5. Maintains weekly cash portfolio dashboards for yield, duration, maturities, and credit exposure, prepares investment committee materials and summary reports, and maintains issuer lists and documentation of trades and portfolio decisions.
