Investment Internship Co-Op - Summer 2027 - Winter 2027 Are you a student looking for the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the investment industry? What You'll Do:
As our Investments Co-Op Intern, you will assist in the day-to-day management of Farm Bureau Life and P&C Companies' assets. The Investments Intern plays a key role in supporting Portfolio Manager due diligence on prospective investment opportunities across multiple asset classes. The position provides a comprehensive opportunity to gain experience in credit research, portfolio management, and portfolio analytics. As an intern, you will also participate in corporate activities designed to provide exposure to our industry, organization, and culture. Our internship program follows an 80/10/10 approach: 80% of your time will be spent performing meaningful work and project-based assignments within your department. 10% of your time will be dedicated to learning from and networking with employees in other areas of the organization. 10% of your time will be spent participating in shared internship experiences that provide insight into our culture, leadership, and business operations. Team:
Be a current college student (sophomore, junior, or senior status). Possess a genuine interest in the investment/financial markets industry. Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Demonstrates robust analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Capacity to acquire data from internal and external sources, maintain databases/data systems, and organize data for effective analysis. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Power BI is preferred. Must be a self-starter, take initiative, and be highly motivated. Be available to take the semester off to work full-time (8am-4:30pm Monday through Friday) from June until December in our West Des Moines, IA office.
