Description We are looking for a Financial Analyst to support informed business decisions through accurate reporting, thoughtful analysis, and clear financial insights in Chicago, Illinois. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented candidate with at least 2 years of experience who can evaluate performance trends, build financial models, and respond to evolving business needs with timely ad hoc analysis. The successful candidate will partner with stakeholders to interpret results, identify key variances, and help improve financial planning and operational visibility.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports that translate data into meaningful business insights for leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, scenario planning, and strategic decision-making.
• Analyze actual results against forecasts, budgets, and prior periods to explain performance drivers and highlight risks or opportunities.
• Perform detailed variance analysis on revenue, expenses, and operating metrics to support accurate financial assessments.
• Gather, organize, and validate financial data from multiple sources to ensure reporting accuracy and consistency.
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand financial questions, provide analytical support, and recommend practical next steps.
• Monitor trends and key performance indicators to identify changes in business performance and communicate findings clearly.
• Assist with process improvements related to financial analysis and reporting workflows to enhance efficiency and data reliability. Requirements
• At least 2 years of experience in financial analysis or a closely related finance role.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct variance analysis and explain financial results in a clear, business-focused manner.
• Experience building and using financial models to support planning, forecasting, and decision-making.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large data sets and identify meaningful trends.
• Proficiency in preparing ad hoc analysis in response to changing business priorities and leadership requests.
• Solid attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality financial work.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to present findings to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
